About Mannan

Dr. Mannan is a Professor of Management at Bangladesh Open University (BOU). He has also served as a faculty member and subject specialist at three private universities. Dr. Mannan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, an MBA in Human Resource Management, and a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Dhaka. Dr. Mannan specializes in the study of Management and HRM and is well known for his research on PPP and Participative Management. He is, or has been, on the editorial review boards of the IJMA (USA), and Journal of BU and reviewer of renown journal from Emerald and Sage. He has authored 7 textbooks and 16 scholarly articles and research papers. Most of his research has focused on issues of public-private partnership, but also written on performance management, knowledge management, participative management, and knowledge economy. Involved in Public Private Partnership Projects in Higher Education, funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB). Besides, he was actively involved with various international projects, especially in India, Australia, Malaysia, and USA. During the 16 years of teaching career at the University level, he actively provided managerial services to the renowned IT companies and security companies. He Has wide multicultural orientation resulted from professional and personal visits.

As management consultant and strategic planner, he worked with several business and not-for-profit organizations for developing their plans, conducting job analysis, preparing job descriptions and undertaking performance/management audit. His active interest and initiatives were instrumental in the introduction of the Strategic Management, Fundamentals of Management, and Business Communication in the MBA programs at the Bangladesh Open University and several renown private universities. Also he has been teaching these courses in some private Universities as adjunct faculty for quite a long time. He has widely lectured in-house and online, and provided consulting services to different business organizations on the issues of TQM, human resource management and strategic management.

Open school is one of the largest schools among six schools of BOU in terms of the number of students’ enrollment. Any person has the opportunity to be admitted irrespective of his/her age, gender, disability and profession in any program of the school. Currently, the school is offering Eight programs namely SSC, HSC, BBS, BBA, MBA, Masters in Criminology and Criminal Justice, Master of Disaster Management & Master of Development Studies.
